Private Charles Coleman

Private Charles Coleman, the son of Frank & Elizabeth Coleman, was born in 1888 and served with the 1st/4th Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment, service number 202850, formerly 7461.

He was aged 29 when he died on 28th June 1917.

Charles Coleman does not appear on the “Souvenir Greeting”, published at Christmas 1917, that listed all of the men of the Kibworths who served in the Armed Forces, despite the fact that he was killed some months before its publication.

Private Coleman was awarded the Victory Medal and the British War Medal, and is commemorated on bay 5 of the Arras Memorial, in the Faubourg-d’Amiens Cemetery, Arras, Pas de Calais, France.
