Arthur J Speke enlisted the Royal Bucks Hussars, service number 1160, later, 205299. He was the son of Samuel Arthur and Louisa Jane Speke, and was born in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, in 1896.
He entered the theatre of war on 21st April 1915 and was probably involved in a cavalry charge at El Murgar on 13th November 1917. He suffered injuries and died the following day.
